Business West is currently offering tailored, in-depth support to help Adult Social Care organisations plan and adapt for the future by identifying their current and future skills needs.
The Workforce for the Future Adult Social Care Resilience Programme offers SMEs in the social care sector access to intensive business support, delivered by Business West’s experienced Skills Advisors and industry experts. The project supports leaders and managers of care organisations across the West of England to build, develop and sustain their workforces.
Project Lead and Skills Advisor, Barry Tugwood, commented, “As part of this programme, organisations will have the chance to connect with a dedicated network of like-minded businesses, all of which share similar frustrations and challenges. There’s opportunities to join CPD, sector based workshops and we offer support on a range of topics, from safeguarding, recruitment and retention, to staffing levels, training and communication.”
Nobilis, an organisation which offers personalised care packages, has already signed up for the programme. They commented, “The programme is supportive, insightful, and extremely helpful. The members of the team that we have worked with are professional and also very open for support outside of our meetings.”
The programme is free to social care organisations and was launched in response to the challenges set out in the West of England Local Industrial Strategy, the Employment & Skills Plan and, more recently, the Regional Taskforce Recovery Plan which highlights the impact of COVID-19 in the West of England region.
