Business West Chambers of Commerce, which was designated as the Employer Representative Body to deliver the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) across Swindon and Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and the West of England in 2022, has just released the preliminary findings of the research prior to commencing the wider LSIP report and roadmap, due for submission in May. This is part of the national rollout of LSIPs, with 38 currently in delivery across England.
Business West was also one of eight Chambers of Commerce who delivered LSIP trailblazers between November 2021 and March 2022; you can find the West of England Plus Trailblazer report here.
The LSIP preliminary findings are summaries of the LSIP research so far and the employer's unmet skills needs, but business engagement, co-design and validation work continue throughout the project, with this cycle of activity currently expected to run until May 2025.
The findings covered the following sectors:
On Friday, 31st March, Business West Chambers of Commerce released these priority findings documents to Further Education providers in the region to help shape their ‘duty to respond’, via accountability reports, curriculum planning and the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) process.
The documents, divided into individual sectoral and regional documents, are available for download here:
