Business West Chambers of Commerce welcomes businesses from a wide range of sectors, sizes and structures, all of whom have different reasons and motivations for joining the community.
As part of our Chamber Member Spotlight series, we’re excited to shine a light on one of our newest members DiversITy-talent, co-founded by Senior Partner Jeremy Blain.
We sat down with Jeremy to find out more about himself and the work that DiversITy-talent are doing to create opportunities for diverse, untapped talent pools by changing misconceptions about careers in modern business and technology.
“We have 65% of CEOs who tell us that they can't get the talent through the door. But the talent who is knocking at the door is not getting the fit for purpose education and training that they need. We're stepping into that space, but primarily focused on young people and untapped, underrepresented talent pools, to help them become more excited about the possibilities in modern business and technology.”
“The way that we're getting the word out about our social enterprise is through our DiversITy-talent Awards. This is a competition open to young people, untapped talent pools and underrepresented communities.”
Since joining the Business West Chambers of Commerce community in October 2023, Jeremy has found the network useful in getting the word out about the company and praised the team for actively helping him get in touch with other members in the region.
“The Business West Chamber has helped us enormously in meeting some of our short term goals, which are around creating this network, but also getting the word out about what we're doing.”
“The Business West Chamber has its arms right across this region and has great links with other organisations and associations. we've realised. Itis actively putting us in touch with those. ….So they're putting their money where their mouth is. And that's really important for us from a networking perspective. Yes, it's partly our responsibility, but to have the team so proactively helping us get the word out, putting us in touch with key people, has been enormously helpful, and a huge benefit of joining the Business West Chamber.”
