Businesses in the West of England are being urged to ensure their business is fit for the future, by taking advantage of the free support on offer from Business West, via the Workforce for the Future programme.

Firms with less than 250 employees are eligible for help and support with Workforce Development Planning from the team of experienced Business Skills Advisors.

Lizzie Lyons, Head of Skills Delivery, who leads the programme for Business West commented:

“Workforce Development Planning is essential for SMEs of all sizes from any sector because it helps to analyse the skills of their current workforce and map this against the skills they require now and in the future.

“Our excellent team of Business Skills Advisors will support businesses to identify any skills gaps and find suitable solutions which could include programmes of training and development or alternative employment routes such as work placements and apprenticeships.”

The programme has already helped many businesses including Bristol-based podcast agency, Digital Bulls. Matt Allen, Director of the business commented:

“My business is growing because of the support and opportunities I’ve had via the programme and I’ve already recommended it to others.”

Businesses can get in touch with the team for 1-2-1 support by visiting this webpage.

Additionally, limited spaces are still available at an online workshop on 10th January that will help businesses understand how workforce planning works and how it can be vital for growing your business. Click here for further details
