Enterprise Europe Network, funded by Innovate UK and delivered by Business West, is supporting the Social Impact Award at this year’s Techies, the Business Exchange technology awards for Swindon & Wiltshire.

EEN Innovation Specialist, Dee Temple-Multon, will be presenting the award virtually, commending technology that delivers community impact and drives social change. Green Machine Computers, Priority IT and Naturally Social will all be vying for first place on the night: Thursday 5th November. We congratulate them on being shortlisted and their efforts in driving a green agenda, improving access to technology and championing the work of charities and ethical companies.

The virtual ceremony will be broadcast as part of the inaugural Tech Swindon Summit which takes place from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th November. The summit will focus on tech, talent, business resilience and innovation, and will be a virtual festival of ideas with over 2,000 attendees taking part in a range of online events and discussions.

EEN supports many SMEs in Swindon and Wiltshire, providing fully funded, tailored advice to the most forward-thinking innovators, helping them scale their businesses and accelerate international growth. We’re pleased to see a number of them shortlisted at the Techies and will continue to offer bespoke support as they navigate the challenges of Brexit and Covid and meet their growth potential.

Swindon and Wiltshire look set to play a leading role in the UK’s digital-first recovery. Already, the region boasts the UK’s 3rd most productive tech sector with over 2,800 companies delivering digi-tech products and services. Nationwide, the National Trust, Intel and Innovate UK all employ technology specialists in Swindon alongside a thriving community of start-ups.

Voted the UK’s 4th best place to work, Swindon is also affordable and well connected. Local innovators should feel confident that they can access talent and drive further digital transformation, growing the town’s thriving ecosystem to mirror its engineering and industrial past.

We look forward to announcing the winner on the night, sign up to the event here
