Today at Leigh Court, Business West celebrated Peru’s inclusion into the ATA Carnet scheme with a Peru-themed event.

ATA Carnets streamline the temporary export process for goods and equipment, allowing businesses, musicians, film productions and other organisations to trade internationally with reduced customs complications. Peru’s inclusion in this scheme expands its availability to 79 territories worldwide, enhancing global trade opportunities.

Guests, including ATA Carnet customers, suppliers, and staff, were welcomed with a festive Peruvian atmosphere, a highlight being an array of food meticulously crafted by our very own award-winning Epic Caterers. The flavours are a true testament to their culinary skills and were a major talking point among our visitors.

But the excitement didn’t stop at the delicious dishes. We also enjoyed a fun quiz about Peru, sparking friendly competition among our guests. The stakes? A much-coveted Paddington toy. This quiz also served as an educational tool, highlighting Peru's rich culture and the significance of our growing trade connections.

Catherine Stephens, Head of International Trade Services, Business West said:

“Today has been a real celebration in recognition of Peru joining the ATA Carnet scheme. Our guests have had the opportunity to pet an Alpaca, meet the team and discuss future opportunities. It is fantastic to see the addition of new global markets, allowing our customers to utilise ATA Carnets to temporarily export their goods overseas without having to pay import duties and taxes. Other countries soon to join will be Saudi Arabia in June and the Philippines in July.”

James Monk, Commercial Director, Business West added:

“Throughout the day, our ATA Carnet specialists have been on hand, sharing insights and engaging with guests on how ATA Carnets simplify the temporary export of professional equipment. It's exciting to see the interest in Digital Carnets as well, a significant leap forward in modernising trade documentation. Business West is at the forefront of these innovations, ensuring our clients and partners can trial and work with the latest international trade solutions.”
